България спечели домакинството на Световно първенство по хокей на лед за мъже в III дивизия през 2017 г. в София.

На конгреса на Международната федерация в Москва където участваха повече от шестдесет държави имаше избори за членове на Управителният съвет на IIHF и избор на държави домакин във всички възрасти по групи. Българската делегация бе заявила две кандидатури за мъже и за юноши до 20 години, но не успя да се пребори за втората поради големия брой желаещи. Нова Зеландия спечели при 20 годишните в нашата група а Тайпе се пребори за две домакинства за юноши до 18 г. и за жени.

Изключително сме щастливи от факта, че спечелихме домакинството на такъв международен форум. Това значи, че любителите на спорта хокей на лед и най-вече децата ще могат да наблюдават на живо мачовете от първенството. В тези трудни години за спорта ни това е невероятна помощ, имайки се предвид, че Българската федерация не получава финансиране от Министерството на спорта и от спонсори.
